Batey 35 is located about an hour north of La Romana. It is one of the farthest ba
|
teys from the city. Each day the teachers ride out to the school from La Romana and then use the truck as a school bus and travel to several of the surrounding bateys picking up children for class.
The school opened in 1999 and serves eight communities around batey 35. There are six teachers instructing the students in grades 1 - 4. The education is provided at no cost to the students as one of the outreach missions of the church in La Romana. The cost of operation is entirely covered by contributions from several churches in the United States. |
